Ardmore 2- Auckland Shooting Complex

The Ardmore 2 Shooting complex stems from the original Ardmore Shooting complex that was utilised by pistol, rifle and shotgun shooters from 1989 until 2008- the complex was built primarily to host the 1990 Commonwealth Games.

Ever since Auckland lost this facility (the Army land upon which is sat was required by the Army for other purposes) a small and dedicated group of shooters, with Stuart Hayman in the Chair, have been working towards building a new similar facility. Headway is now being made for this range and it is hoped that the facility will be created - all be it, in stages. 

The first stage will cost $475,000 and this will create a 25 and 50 metre range. The eventual design of the complex will enable a variety of shooting groups to utilise it - pistol, rifle and shotgun, and within pistol many of the disciplines could effectively use the space.
